Diet
Avoid hard and sticky foods.
Try to keep fizzy drinks and sugary foods to once a week.
Problems
Having a new brace is a bit like having new shoes; after you’ve had it for a while, it may start to rub. If so, contact the practice, and we can make you an appointment for you to come and have the brace relieved.
If you break the brace, or cannot wear it for any reason, let us know straight away. Progress will be lost if you leave it out for a week.
Your own Dentist
It is important that you visit your own dentist every six months for a check up, just as you would if you didn’t have the brace.
