Headgear Instructions

You are now wearing your headgear appliance.  Try to follow the instructions you have been given, and remember, we are here to help you as much as we can.

  • You should wear your head brace in the evening and through the night, for a total of 12 hours out of each day.
  • When placing your headgear into the bands on your teeth, always ensure that the clips are engaged, to hold it in place.
  • If you are unsure whether the head brace is secure, STOP wearing
    it and arrange to see us as soon as possible.
  • The head brace is very secure, however, in the extremely rare eventuality of it causing any injury to your eyes, remove it, and attend the nearest accident and emergency department STRAIGHT AWAY.
  • If the head brace becomes free during the night, please do not wear it again until it has been checked by one of our team.
