Pain
Your teeth may be sore after your brace is fitted, particularly in the first week. If you need to, take whatever you would normally take for a headache.
Some people may find this pain quite bad, it may keep you awake at night, but it will be better after a few days.
Sharp wire
Try wax or chewing gum to protect your cheek from the wire until you are able to see us.
If the wire is soft and flexible you can attempt to bend it away from your cheek.
Bracket off
Contact the surgery on the next working day.
If it is causing trauma to the cheek use wax or chewing gum until we can see you.
If you have a severe emergency out of normal working hours please contact the NHS emergency out of hours number 0845 603 1404.
