Diet

  • Avoid hard and sticky foods.
  • Try to keep fizzy drinks and sugary foods to once a week.

 Problems

  • Having a new brace is a bit like having new shoes; after you’ve had it for a while, it may start to rub. If so, contact the practice, and we can make you an appointment for you to come and have the brace relieved.
  • If you break the brace, or cannot wear it for any reason, let us know straight away. Progress will be lost if you leave it out for a week.

 Your own Dentist

  • It is important that you visit your own dentist every six months for a check up, just as you would if you didn’t have the brace.
